Residence at Vazhuthacaud
The project exemplifies the new urban requirement especially in places of South India, where there is a growing demand for compact houses in typical urban settings within restricted site conditions, yet catering to spaces of the Indian family with all its obligations and requirements, coupled with the urban well travelled Keralite’s aspirations for a life with all the trappings of modern realities.
This project was an endeavour to move away from the traditional large house with sloped roof concepts found typically in these parts of India, to create sufficient built space in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, within the narrow back alleys of the urban heart of the city.
